Peterborough City Council is to consider the next steps in the delivery of more than 4,000 new homes across 15 sites in the city following the completion of a report by planning and urban design specialist Tibbalds.
The report is designed to inform the council on the capacity and delivery strategy for housing-led regeneration across the sites. It has identified potential for more than 4,000 new homes, including student accommodation and more flexible city centre space, connected by sustainable forms of transport.
Tibbalds led on the report, which was funded by Homes England, with additional input from Aspinall Verdi on demand and market assessments, Quantem on cost and CampbellReith on environmental and technical issues. The 15 sites had already been identified by the council for development.
Peterborough City Council executive director of place and economy Adrian Chapman said: “We’re delighted with the capacity study Tibbalds has produced to help illustrate the level of opportunity across our city. This work has enabled us to have confidence in the deliverability for different types of schemes, appealing to residents, business and investors.”
