Blue-chip housebuilder Persimmon will reveal it has hired Roger Devlin as its new chairman tomorrow, as it shores up its board ahead of what is likely to be a difficult annual general meeting next month.
His appointment, which was first reported by Sky News, comes just over a month after he took up the same post at William Hill, and will see him step down from as the chairman of pub group Marston’s.
Devlin, who has extensive experience serving on boards, will join the FTSE 100 builder as it battles to soothe investor anger over bumper payouts to bosses.
