Persimmon slows pace of construction to finish houses on time

Sales slowed at Persimmon after the housebuilder deliberately slowed its pace of construction to ensure houses were finished on time.

The company has faced criticism for failing to meet expected move-in dates but said it was now taking a “more targeted approach to the timing of sales releases”.

That led to a 5% drop in the average number of homes sold per site since the start of this year.
