The Leeds office of CBRE has appointed Richard Gibala (pictured left) as a senior surveyor in its valuation team. Gibala joins from Cushman & Wakefield’s professional services department.

Montagu Evans has appointed Tracy Collins (pictured second from left) as a partner in its agency team. Collins specialises in the central London commercial market and has more than 30 years’ experience working with investors, developers and tenants, including Schroders, Argent and Columbia Threadneedle.

Central London commercial property consultancy Levy Real Estate has hired Tors Hayward (pictured second from right) as a senior surveyor in the retail agency and investment team from Savills.  Callum MacDonald has joined the office leasing and development team from GVA as a senior surveyor.

Northampton-based Barwood Capital has appointed William Chambers (pictured right) as investment director from JLL. Jonathon Ellerington has joined as a surveyor to assist the property team.

Richard Guy has joined the GVA building team as a senior surveyor in its Newcastle office.  Guy has experience in residential, commercial, educational, institutional and public sector property.

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed William Turnbull as surveyor to its Newcastle project management and consultancy team. He joins from Knight Frank.

Savills has appointed directors Craig Timney and David Cobban, as head of the Edinburgh office and Glasgow office respectively.

SDL Group has appointed Samantha Massey as launch manager of its new property management franchise scheme, SDL Property Partners.

Law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges has appointed Anthea Bamford as partner to its real assets practice in London.

Estate fund and asset manager Pradera has appointed Sabiha Gulec and Sevgi Ocak as new joint heads of its Turkey office. Their primary responsibility will be to oversee the management of Istanbul Cevahir, one of Europe’s largest shopping centres.

Cardiff-based Fletcher Morgan has promoted Matthew Jones to associate director in the retail and commercial department.

Becky Thomson from Colliers International has been selected to the validation panel for the University College of Estate Management. She will review and approve the UCEM’s suite of BSc programmes.

JLL graduates Conor Docherty, Jan Dunsire, Ally Stang and Matthew Hannah have passed their RICS Assessment of Professional Competence exams.

Savills has appointed Fraser Watson as head of valuations and advisory for its Czech Republic and Slovakia operations. They will take up their new posts in January.

UK private equity real estate investor Henley has appointed Jim Johnston to its Fund Investment Committee, Sonia Barnett has been promoted to finance director for healthcare and David Blakeborough has been recruited as senior associate in the investment team.

Regeneration specialist Urban Union has hired Kenny Downs as finance director. Downs joins the Glasgow head office having previously worked as regional financial controller for Keepmoat Regeneration.

JLL’s Manchester office has recruited surveyor Andrew Kan to the cost management team, Siobhan Ellis has joined the property and asset management team as senior surveyor and Sulthan Mahmud and Ashley Parkinson have been appointed to the building consultancy team as surveyors.

Scottish planning consultancy Muir Smith Evans has agreed a merger with commercial property consultants Ryden. The merged firms will operate under the Ryden name creating a planning and research consultancy team operating throughout Scotland.

Anna McLaggan has joined Lindsays’ rural services team in Edinburgh. She will oversee voluntary registrations under the Land Registration Act.

Niche retail agency HRH Retail has recruited graduate Jack Brown to its investment team. Brown will work alongside Jeremy Lovell and Andrew Hoffbrand on investment instructions from retail and leisure clients, which include private investors, property companies and institutions across the UK.

Cheffins has appointed Clement Lam as property manager to the Cambridge-based team. Lam previously worked for Colliers Jardine in Hong Kong and Barfoot and Thompson in New Zealand.

Landhold Capital has appointed Andrew Dutton as land and planning director.

London property developer Anthology has appointed Chris Powell as project director to overseeing the Lee Valley Estate’s Hale Village regeneration. Lucy Conlon joins as marketing manager from Peabody to manage the communication activities of the firm’s live sites.

Mayer Brown has promoted lawyers Iain Roberts to partner and Robert Patterson to counsel in its London Real Estate practice.

Cowan Architects has appointed specialist conservation and heritage architect Jonathan Cerowski to meet the market needs in the South East.

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Andrew Smith, George Dyer and Paddy Allen as partners in its student accommodation team from GSA Group.
