People and companies: Matthews & Goodman appoints equity partner in London

Jason Newton (pictured left) has been promoted to managing director of Redrow Homes’ North West division in Daresbury, Cheshire. He previously held the role of sales director since 2015.

Retirement village operator and developer Inspired Villages has appointed Ben Ling (centre) as village manager at Great Alne Park, Warwickshire. He was previously operations manager for the Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham.

Tom Norfolk (pictured right) has joined Matthews & Goodman as an equity partner in London. He will direct the valuation team and look to grow national capability and financial performance.

Housebuilder Hayfield has appointed Ranjit Kang as national head of marketing with responsibility for its live residential sites. She joins from Kier Living.

Midlands law firm Roythornes has appointed Bhavesh Amlani as head of the national property team. Benjamin Smith and Emily Danson join as senior associates and Sarah Ward as senior paralegal.

Anthony Martin has joined Hartnell Taylor Cook’s valuation team as an associate director in the Bristol office. He has previously worked for Cushman & Wakefield, Chesterton and Cluttons.

CBRE’s operational real estate team has appointed Oliver Close in the self-storage sector; Alister McCutchion in the UK OPRE valuation and consulting teams; and Phil Schmid in the retirement living business and healthcare transaction team.

FirstPort has promoted Lee Richards to director in the build-to-rent division. He joined the firm in 2018 as head of property standards.

Peter Green has joined GRE Assets as project director. He will be responsible for project delivery and developing new construction projects in the UK and overseas.

Lunson Mitchenall has appointed surveyor Zaz Robb to its London team to work on projects in Canary Wharf, The O2, Brent Cross and Southbank Centre.

Monique Royle has joined Fleurets’ Midlands team as a divisional director. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the hospitality sector.

Capital & Regional has appointed David Hunter as non-executive chairman, effective following the 2020 AGM on 20 May. He will initially join the board as a non-executive director on 9 March.

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Rob Taylor to head its logistics and industrial team in Manchester. He joins from Knight Frank and will be responsible for developing the business across the North West.

Keygrove Chartered Surveyors has promoted Andrew Hancock to director.

GL Hearn has appointed Andrew Murphy as viability development director and Oliver Dawson as an associate director in viability, from Barton Willmore. Will Sproul joins as director of CPO and development management from Ardent.

Property portal OnTheMarket has appointed Rupert Sebag-Montefiore to its board as an independent non-executive director. He will also chair the remuneration committee.

Creative Retail has appointed Matt Pegg as investment and development director. He has 15 years’ experience working in consultancy and client-side positions and has acted for regional and national retailers, most recently as an asset manager of LCP’s £100m portfolio.

Vail Williams has appointed acquisition and disposal associate Charlotte Fullard to lead its agency team in Birmingham. She has more than 15 years’ experience in office, industrial and retail agency, and has worked for Birmingham City Council, Horton’s Estate and Real Estate Investors.

Powell Williams has promoted Rob Carrotte to senior surveyor in its Chester office. He joined the practice in 2011 as a graduate surveyor and achieved his chartered status in 2016.

Landwood Group has hired Anna Main as director of its new commercial asset management division, where she will lead and develop commercial asset management services for new and existing clients. The new team includes client accountant Ceryn Coughlin, property management surveyor Glenn Taylor and head of facilities management Barry Cargill.

Real estate and investment fund manager Greenman has appointed Moritz Lind as head of portfolio. He joins from JLL Retail Asset Management and will lead the Greenman team in Berlin as it expands its German portfolio.

Hines has promoted Laura Hines-Pierce to senior managing director in the office of the CEO in Houston. She will work alongside president and chief executive Jeff Hines to help shape company-wide strategy and manage key risks.

Kevin Goodwin and Gemma Jenkinson have set up the consultancy KG Richmond Planning to provide planning advice services to clients across Surrey and the West Midlands.
