People and companies: Hill Group appoints head of sustainability

Victoria Patterson (left) has joined Hines as director of marketing and experience for living operations in Europe. She joins from Greystar, where she was senior director for global customer strategy, brand and digital marketing.

Hill Group has appointed Brendan Ritchie (right) as head of sustainability to drive the business’s environmental, social, governance agenda. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the sustainability and housebuilding sectors and his new role will support the group in setting clear ESG targets and publicly reporting on performance. Ritchie previously worked for Willmott Dixon for 22 years, where his last role was managing director of a specialist division advising on environmental governance and sustainable development.

Kevin Farrow has joined GL Hearn as head of retail, overseeing the retail advisory team. The team specialises in managing the cost of occupation for retail clients with a focus on food store, retail warehousing, high street and shopping centre portfolios. Farrow joins from Cushman & Wakefield, where he was head of UK retail occupier agency.

Solihull-based Living Space Housing has appointed Conor Chamberlain as land manager to grow the affordable housing specialist’s operation across the Midlands. He joins from Elan Homes Midlands.

Bruce Gillingham Pollard has promoted Dominic Tixerant to associate director. Tixerant joined the firm in 2016 as a graduate. Nick Goodman has been recruited as a consultant and brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in the retail and leisure sector, advising occupiers and landlords in London and the South East.

Anthony Walker has joined the board of Topscan as director. He has more than 30 years’ experience as a surveyor and project manager, most recently as chief executive officer of GoReport. Walker is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, where he is also a member of the UK and Ireland World Regional Board, and a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers.

Legal firm Leasehold Law has appointed Belinda Walkinshaw as managing partner, Dominic Danvers a property solicitor and property lawyer Ahmed Anwar.

Forge Property Consultants has promoted Tom Mason to the role of associate director. He joined the firm in 2013 as a graduate and was instrumental in leading the firm’s introduction of the RICS Homebuyers Reports and successful applications to valuation panels.

The British Property Federation has invited Sholom Cohen, an associate director at Avison Young, to take a seat on its regional policy committee.

Property manager Jean Brown has joined MetroPM to manage the firm’s portfolio in Cheltenham and the surrounding areas. She has worked in the sector for 15 years and is a member of the Institute of Residential Property Management.

LaSalle Investment Management has hired Brian Klinksiek as head of European research and global portfolio strategies. Based in London, he will lead LaSalle’s European research & strategy team responsible for forecasts of property markets, capital markets and metro economies across the region.

Jamie Noon has joined Principle Estate Management as property manager from FirstPort.

Leeds and Manchester-based OBI Property has appointed Kate Jackson to the workplace consultancy team and Andrew Crabtree and Jordana Anderson to the transactions and asset management team. In addition, Olivia Ritchie, Ruth Goldacre and Sam Corby have joined OBI Academy, an initiative launched by the firm last year to nurture the industry’s young talent.
