People and companies: Cheffins appoints associate in Cambridge office

Claire Shannon (left) has been promoted to associate in Cheffins’ Cambridge office. She joined the firm in 2017 working across the commercial, rural and residential divisions.

Greystar has appointed Covadonga Sanz Llaca (right) as director of asset management for southern Europe to support its growth strategy across the region. She was previously at Hines for five years, latterly as a senior associate.

KKR has appointed Simon Marrison as senior adviser for real estate in Europe, effective from 7 September. In his role, Marrison will advise KKR on real estate investments across Europe and contribute to its growth in the region.

Aldermore Bank has recruited Iain Bryson as head of development and specialist property within its commercial real estate team. He previously worked at Europe Arab Bank.

Atrato Group has appointed Faye Commander from Liberty Living as a paralegal and Blair Abel has joined from Knight Frank as an assistant director in asset management.

Argent managing partner Anna Strongman has been named as chief executive of Oxford University Development, a partnership between University of Oxford and Legal & General. From September, she will oversee the development of new homes for students and staff, as well as university-led innovation districts. Strongman is being replaced as managing partner at Argent by Nick Searl and Robert Evans.

Altus Group has appointed partner James FitzGibbon to the rating team. He joins from Vail Williams where he was lead partner for business rates.

AEW has promoted Jeremy Convert as head of investments for France. He joined the firm in 2013 as an executive director in the investment team, and will take over from Laurent Babelon who retires following a 40-year career in real estate.

Quinta Group has appointed Neal Hunter as development director. He will assist with the delivery of its £20m development pipeline along with identifying new opportunities across the North West and Midlands.

Belmont Green has appointed John Rowan as chief financial officer.

Sara Bailey from law firm Trowers & Hamlins has been appointed as a trustee of Open City, a charity that works with architecture and urban design to make the built environment more accessible and inclusive.

AI-powered real estate data provider RE5Q, has appointed Bryan Dove to its board as a non-executive director. He previously worked for Skyscanner for five years.

Mannie Tupholme has joined The Letting Partnership as client accounts manager.

UBS Asset Management has appointed Jonathan Ufton as asset manager for its UK real estate team, based in London. He will be responsible for the asset management of real estate assets for both Triton Property Fund LP and international investors in the UK market.

Eleven graduates at Colliers International have passed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors assessment of professional competence. The newly qualified chartered surveyors include: Folu Aladelusi, valuation and advisory services in Manchester; Luke Budden, licence and leisure in London; Charlie Elliott, project and building consultancy in London; Eloise Garnett and George Glew, valuation and advisory services in London; Jessica Harding, project and building consultancy in Bristol; David Kempsell, project and building consultancy in London; Nathan Khanverdi, industrial and logistics in Manchester; Jerome Solomon, project and building consultancy in Birmingham; Julian Meir, City fringe in London; and Cameron Reekie, project and building consultancy in Manchester.
