People and companies: Avison Young appoints senior surveyor in Manchester

Shola Oso (left) has joined Avison Young in Manchester as a senior surveyor. She has experience in the retail and office markets and previously worked at Workman, Matalan, CBRE and Savills. Jay Rutter has been promoted to associate. He joins the team to work with private equity fund managers and public corporations.

Capital & Regional has appointed Gavin Cockayne (right) as general manager at The Mall Maidstone. He has more than 20 years’ experience working with major retailers in prime London shopping destinations. Cockayne replaces Andy Davy, who has retired after 11 years.

Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management has appointed Nick Hiles as head of UK commercial asset management. He joins from Stanhope and will oversee the delivery of business plans for existing assets.

Greystar has appointed Michela Hancock as managing director for Europe to identify new opportunities to support acquisitions, partnerships and joint ventures across student accommodation, build-to-rent and senior living. Dave Thomas has been appointed as senior director to lead development in the UK.

CBRE has appointed its chief digital and technology officer Chandra Dhandapani to the role of chief administrative officer. She has led the firm’s digital transformation since 2016 and is now tasked with bringing the same changes to the agent’s people, marketing and research functions.

Blackstone has appointed Ruth Porat, chief financial officer of Google and Alphabet, to its board of directors. She joined Google in May 2015 as senior vice president and chief financial officer and took on the role at Alphabet in October 2015.

Woods Hardwick has hired Paul Woods as planning director to lead the growth of the business in the Midlands. He has more than 30 years’ experience of town planning in the public and private sectors and previously worked for Edge 4 Planning and GL Hearn.

Lancashire Council’s Hannah Bridge has successfully passed her APC qualification, maintaining the estate department’s 100% pass rate.

LCR has made the following appointments: Emma Gergi and Karl Drabble as senior development managers; Josef Williamson and Nadia Vlek as independent land advisory co-ordinators in the asset management team; Lloyd Perry as a surveyor in the asset management team; Neera Vara as head of financial planning and analysis; Mazen Baki as financial planning and analysis manager; and Nimisha Joshi as finance business partner. Claire Anderson has been promoted to financial controller. Eduard Dinu, Nadia Ntwari and Rachelle Pereira join the corporate services team, as IT service desk manager, team co-ordinator and HR co-ordinator, respectively. Barnaby Samuels has been appointed portfolio analyst in the corporate services team.

Sanne has appointed Jens Grüneklee as business development director in its Luxembourg office. Catherine Law joins as head of business development for the Asia region, based in the Hong Kong office.

Savills has appointed Alexandre Fraigneau as director of transactions in its logistics team in France. He joins from Colliers International, where he was head of industrial and logistics for three years.

Rendall & Rittner has appointed Charlie Crawley as key client manager for its largest freehold clients. She joins from Warwick Estates.

Empiric Student Property has appointed Duncan Garrood as chief executive. He will join the company in January 2021.

Barratt Developments has appointed Ian Menham as regional managing director for the West region. He will be responsible for operations in the South West of England, where the company operates under the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands. James Dunne has been appointed as managing director for Barratt David Wilson South West.

Redrow Homes has appointed Claire Jarvis as managing director for new homes in Lancashire. She previously held the role of group sales director.

LCP has appointed Julian Diamond as head of asset management for London. He previously held the role of retail director since 2017 and has played a key role in ensuring sustainability and income generation for the properties within its retail property portfolio.
