Hire of the week: Ian Gascoigne

Ian Gascoigne has joined Gerald Eve’s Birmingham office as a salaried partner and head of the Midlands landlord and tenant team.

Gascoigne, who joins from CBRE, brings nearly 20 years’ lease consultancy expertise to the role, with a particular specialism in the logistics market

Gascoigne’s appointment strengthens the four-strong Birmingham team, which advises high-profile clients such as Prologis, Aviva, Jaguar Land Rover and M&G on the industrial side and WHSmith, Costa, Pizza Express in the retail sector.

Richard Ludlow, partner at Gerald Eve’s Birmingham office, says: “The arrival of Ian further strengthens what is already one of the city’s leading landlord and tenant teams, and his expertise will be crucial in providing clients with an even better level of service and professional advice.

Michael Darroch has joined Kempton Carr Croft as a senior surveyor. He will be based in the firm’s Maidenhead office and joins from Duncan Bailey Kennedy.

Carter Jonas’s Leeds office has appointed Mark Bagshaw as an associate in the valuation and professional services team. He has 13 years’ industry experience.

London-based law firm Winckworth Sherwood has appointed Tim Fogarty as a partner in its planning and real estate team. He joins from RPC and specialises in development risk, rights of light and planning litigation.

BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Benjamin Limbourg as general manager of BNP Paribas Real Estate APM Luxembourg.

Malcolm Hollis has appointed the following building surveyors across its UK offices. Charlotte Smith and James Perry in Birmingham; Fiona Arnot in Winchester; Matthew Wong, Alex Morris and Tom Carter in London; Joshua Baggott in Bristol; and Dan Horsley in Leeds. Daniel Felgate has joined as a senior chartered building surveyor and Stevie Dennis as a sustainability consultant in the London City office.

Urban Splash has promoted Emily Handslip to commercial lettings director. She joined the regeneration specialist more than 10 years ago and was influential in the prelet of Birmingham’s Fort Dunlop when it opened in 2006.

Sanderson Weatherall has appointed industrial agent Darren Naylor to its North East agency team. He joins as an associate partner and his focus will be on industrial acquisitions and disposals in Newcastle and Teesside.

Argent regional director Rob Groves has been appointed as chairman of the British Council for Offices’ committee in the Midlands and East Anglia. He replaces Lee Jones.

East Anglia estate agency Fenn Wright has made the following appointments at its new office in Sudbury: Sam Thornton, associate partner; Janice Woodhouse, residential secretary; Sharon Thurgood and Jessica Stanhope, residential sales negotiators; Brady Catterwell, lettings manager; and Tracy Wigens, residential sales progressor.

Simon Hellewell has joined law firm Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office as a property partner. He has more than 20 years’ experience and particular expertise in the housebuilding sector.

Emrys Parry has joined law firm Pinsent Masons as a strategic planning adviser in its planning and consenting team. She joins from the Royal Town Planning Institute, and will work in the infrastructure, energy and real estate sectors.

Colliers International has appointed outsourcing specialist Apara Guha as a director in the EMEA corporate solutions team. She has 20 years’ experience working across the EMEA and Asia Pacific markets.

Development and infrastructure consultancy Peter Brett Associates has promoted equity directors James Overend, Jane Hirst and Bernard Greep to partners to strengthen the firm’s planning and transport planning business.

John Wheeler has joined bridging lender Century Capital as head of business development. He has worked in property finance and banking markets for more than 35 years.
