Housing minister Matthew Pennycook has overturned a refusal to grant planning for 280 homes in West Sussex.
A reserved matters application from housebuilder Crest Nicholson for Kilnwood Vale in Horsham had been left undetermined by Horsham District Council. However, following an appeal in March, the housing minister, acting on behalf of secretary of state Angela Rayner, has now overturned the decision.
Outline planning for the 280-home scheme had first been approved in 2011.
It is the latest in a growing list of housing projects that are being enabled to proceed as a result of appeal.
The Labour government has committed to building 1.5m homes during its tenure.
