Patrizia appoints new UK and Ireland transactions boss

Patrizia has hired IWG’s Phil Irons as its managing director of transactions for the UK and Ireland.

Phil Irons

Irons was chief executive of Workplace Capital Partners, IWG’s flexible workspace property investment fund, for more than four years.

He was also previously a partner at Benson Elliot, where he oversaw the UK country team, and a director at Schroders Property Investment Management. During his career he has completed more than €3bn (£2.7bn) of deals.

In his new role, Irons will report to Philipp Schaper, European head of transactions.

Schaper said: “Our confidence in central London as a resilient global office hub endures, and Phil’s impressive track record and in-depth understanding of this market is especially relevant as we look to build our exposure there.”

Patrizia’s UK team has driven more than €700m of transactions in the past 12 months, including an advisory role in Hines’s sale of the Cabot (formerly known as 25 Cabot Square) in Canary Wharf to Link REIT in July.
