BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Aman Panesar as director in its central London investment team.
In his new role Panesar will work with Fergus Keane, head of central London investment markets, on office and retail transactions. The role will also include working on residential conversion opportunities, as demand for change of use increases.
Panesar joins from Cushman & Wakefield where he spent a decade working in the London capital markets, valuation and advisory teams.
He has advised on buildings including the Walkie Talkie and the Shard. More recently, Panesar has worked on transactions including 12 Conduit Street, W1, which was sold by King Edwards Hospital to a private investor from Denmark for £32m in November 2023, and 94 New Bond Street, W1, which was acquired by a private Spanish investor for £32.25m.
He also worked on 3-8 Whitehall Place, SW1, which Schroders sold to Legal & General on behalf of the Greater Manchester Pension Fund for around £155.25m in 2022.
Keane said: “Capital markets activity is gathering pace as new sources of funding emerges and international capital starts to move as values correct. This, alongside positive signals in terms of the base rate, five-year Sonia, and inflation, means the amber traffic light is turning to green.
“We are strengthening our central London capital markets team at an opportune time in the cycle, offering our clients an even greater depth of strategic expertise. Having worked with Aman on a number of deals, I have no doubt he will make a strong impact on our business with our existing and new clients that he will be working closely with in due course.”
Panesar said: “Joining the team feels like a huge opportunity that could not be missed. I have heard first-hand how the financial fluency offering through the bank collaboration is providing benefits already, and I am very much looking forward to bringing my expertise of the West End and City markets to support the team’s activity in these key submarkets.”
Panesar’s appointment follows a spate of hires, including James Barrett as national head of affordable housing, Charlotte Fullard as associate director of office agency based in Birmingham, and James Littlewood as head of UK data transformation.
BNP PRE relocated HQ employees to its office at 10 Harewood Avenue, NW1, last month. The firm still has offices in the City, at 5 Aldermanbury Square, EC2, and in the West End on Savile Row, W1.
