Oxford Eastpoint Business Park revamp gets go-ahead

Investor Railpen has secured approval for the redevelopment of Eastpoint Business Park in Oxford into a life sciences campus.

The decision is in line with last week’s officer’s recommendation, with the plans lodged in April this year.

The park sits south-east of Oxford, just off the Eastern By-Pass Road and comprises office space across five buildings. Two of the buildings also include medical facilities.

All buildings on the park will be demolished and replaced with three facilities, spanning 215,278 sq ft, dedicated for research and development, including CL2 labs, office and write-up space, collaboration space, learning labs for schools, balconies, and green roofs.

There will also be a separate café building and a multi-storey car and cycle parking hub.

The campus, designed by Scott Brownrigg, targets BREEAM Outstanding, WELL, and WiredScore SmartScore Platinum certifications.

The proposed development is expected to generate £92m per year.

Savills advised Railpen on planning.
