Workspace chair Stephen Hubbard will step down in July, after nine years on its board. He will be succeeded by current non-executive director Duncan Owen.
Hubbard joined the board as a non-executive director in July 2014 and has held the role of chair since July 2020.
Chief executive Graham Clemett said: “Stephen has made a hugely important contribution to the growth of Workspace and our successful navigation of the challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic. I am pleased the board has identified an excellent successor in Duncan, and I look forward to working closely with him over the coming years as we continue to deliver on the company’s exciting growth opportunities.”
Owen, who joined the Workspace board in 2021, has more than 30 years’ experience in the real estate sector, serving as global head of real estate at Schroders and as CEO of Immobel Capital Partners.
Until recently, he was on the board of governors for the Church Commissioners and chaired its property investment committee.
Hubbard said: “I have very much enjoyed being on the Workspace board for the last nine years. When I took over as chair three years ago, one of my objectives was to strengthen the board and plan for my succession. In this regard, I am delighted that this has been successful with Duncan taking over the chairman role.”
