Old Trafford stadium scheme will not face public inquiry

 

Planners at the Government Office North West have decided not to call in the £40m redevelopment of Lancashire county cricket club’s Old Trafford stadium in for a public inquiry.

The decision paves the way for Ask Developments, Tesco, Lancashire county cricket club and Trafford council to move ahead with the redevelopment work and the construction of a 115,000 sq ft food-store.

The decision could ensure that international test match cricket is played in Manchester in future years.
