Office Group founder Charlie Green to stand down

Charlie Green is standing down from The Office Group, the flexible workspace business he co-founded 20 years ago.

But while he will cease to be president from the end of this month, Green will remain as a special adviser to the group.

Green said: “Following the successful merger of TOG and Fora, now feels like the right time to take on a new challenge.”

Brockton Capital-owned Fora and TOG merged under the TOG brand in 2022, creating a flexible office operator with 72 buildings comprising 3.1m sq ft across nine cities in the UK and Germany. As part of the deal, Green became president of the enlarged group, where he was responsible for all aspects of real estate.

A chartered surveyor by training, Green co-founded TOG with executive chair Olly Olsen in 2003. They opened their first building in 2004 on City Road in London, growing the portfolio to more than 50 buildings by the time of the merger, including five in Germany.

Blackstone acquired a majority stake in TOG in 2017, with both Green and Olsen remaining shareholders in the business.

Olsen said: “20 years ago Charlie and I met and agreed how we would challenge the norm of office working and do something completely different by driving the transformation in the office industry and putting the customer first. Charlie has been an incredible business partner and friend and I wish him all the very best for the next chapter in his career.”
