Developer Novo Homes has gained planning consent to convert a three-acre site of four listed mill buildings at Skipton, North Yorkshire.
Novo plan to convert the Mill buildings into:
· 110 apartments,
· 14 town houses,
· 30,000 sq ft of offices
· and seven retail/leisure units
Parking for 302 vehicles is also proposed for the scheme.
Novo Homes specialises in renewing dilapidated mills and buildings on brown land sites.
Belle Vue Mills is just off Broughton Road in a conservation area next to the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.
Novo acquired the buildings from greetings card maker Kingsley Cards two years ago.
Nick Mortimer, senior design coordinator at architects for the scheme DLG, said:
“We are delighted to have secured full planning approval to deliver this exciting scheme.
“Belle Vue Mills is a significant landmark for the town and we have careful to ensure that we retain character but also provide a more sustainable development that integrates well with existing town centre facilities with accessibility for all.
“We are already in talks with several high street retail operators that a keen to take space in the scheme”
