Northern developer delays builds and sales in third lockdown

Regional developer One Heritage Group has delayed progress at its schemes in Burnley, Salford and Oldham as the country goes into a third national lockdown.

The North West-based firm has pushed back development milestones at the schemes due to the “fast-changing backdrop of the UK economy”.

Construction at the 545-home Waterloo Place in Salford is now due to begin in the second quarter. Planning consent has also been pushed back at Oldham County Court and is expected this quarter. The refurbishment and sale of a co-living scheme at 5-9 Nicholas Street in Burnley due last year has also been pushed into this quarter.

Chief executive Jason Upton said: “We have been operating within a challenging environment including a new national lockdown, but continue to experience strong demand for our properties, especially from overseas buyers.”
