More than 25 commercial and residential properties are expected to be developed in the town of Dungannon, Northern Ireland following the identification of 16 sites with development potential.
The sites amount to a total of 19 acres and the most valuable of them could fetch about £10m if put on the market.
Prices in the area range between £500 – £1m per acre and the sites range in size from less than an acre up to 6.7 acres.
The Dungannon Regeneration Partnership Board hopes that its promotion of the sites will generate 25-30 new properties in the town by 2011.
Paul McCreedy, town development manager, says the sites have potential for a range of uses including residential, commercial, retail and offices.
The Partnership is now working proactively to flag them up as potential development/redevelopment sites to owners, agents, and investors.
The most attractive of the sites are located at Anne Street where two sites adjoin one another and would have a total acreage of 8.85 acres if they were combined for development.
These are also close to Market Square and Scotch Street, the main retail areas of the town.
