NHS Property Services has put the former St Bartholomew’s Hospital in New Road, Rochester, up for sale.
The Kent site has stood empty since September 2016 and was declared surplus to the needs of the NHS by Medway Clinical Commissioning Group in June 2016.
A pre-application with Medway council by NHPS has earmarked the site for around 103 homes.
The 2.5-acre site consists of a variety of buildings, including the main hospital block, which was built circa 1862-3 and designed by Robert Philip Pope.
Behind the main building is the Grade II listed waterworks building.
Savills has been instructed to sell the site.
