Next phase of Belfast waterfront scheme approved

Belfast City Council has approved plans for the latest phase of Belfast Harbour’s City Quays development, a nine-storey, 160,000 sq ft mixed-use building known as City Quays 5.

The next step of the scheme will add to the existing offices, retail and multi-storey car park, as well as a Marriott hotel.

The development will include grade-A office space, ground-floor retail and exhibition space and a rooftop hospitality offering.

Kevin Ryan, development director at Belfast Harbour, said: “Creating an iconic waterfront and a vibrant inner harbour continues to be one of Belfast Harbour’s key strategic goals and we are pleased that planning has been granted to progress the next phase of our wider City Quays Masterplan vision.”

Belfast Harbour also has planning permission for City Quays 4, 256 build-to-rent homes. City Quays 3, a 16-storey office building, opened in 2023.
