Newland Homes has bought a 14.2-acre former aerospace engineering works site in Claverham, north Somerset, from UTC Aerospace Systems.
It will seek planning permission for a housing scheme for the site, which already has 98,100 sq ft of existing buildings.
Simon Richardson, associate land director at Newland Homes, said: “Securing this brownfield site in Claverham is another milestone in the growth of Newland Homes.
“We look forward to working with North Somerset Council and Claverham Futures in bringing forward plans for redeveloping this site.”
James Petherick, director in residential development at JLL in Bristol, which advised UTC Aerospace Systems, said there had been “significant interest” from developers for the site.
“Opportunities such as this one are highly sought after. Indeed, many of the parties who were interested in this site are still on the hunt for similar opportunities.”
