Newcastle City Council is looking for a development partner to deliver a £200m mixed-use scheme in the city centre.
The masterplan for the six-acre development site to be known as the Stephenson Quarter, includes grade-A new-build offices, refurbished creative workspace, residential buildings and a small amount of retail and leisure space across nine plots.
Knight Frank has been appointed to help the council in its search.
In addition, developer World Wheel Company has submitted a planning application to create Europe’s tallest observation wheel. The £100m plans, subject to approval, will see a new landmark created on the Quayside in the centre of Newcastle.
