Socius expands team with new development expert

Socius has hired New Yorker Ashley Broderick to the development team for its £165m Cambridge project.

Broderick, who joins from proptech firm Kitt Technologies where she worked with commercial landlords to deliver flexible workspaces, will join the urban regeneration specialist as senior project manager.

She will initially focus on the delivery of Devonshire Gardens, the firm’s £165m sustainable neighbourhood in the centre of Cambridge, and the Members’ Hill Retirement Village in Weybridge.

Broderick previously held roles at New York developer Taconic and major American home builder Toll Brothers City Living.

Broderick is also a tech entrepreneur, and has established an online retail platform for beauty and wellbeing products.

Socius managing director Barry Jessup said: “Ashley is joining Socius at a really exciting time, as we continue to advance and expand our near-£1bn pipeline of urban mixed-use projects in some of the UK’s most dynamic and forward-looking cities. Her development experience in New York and understanding of technology and data will be a great addition to our team as we work to create places that are vibrant and futureproof.”

Socius’ development pipeline currently includes the regeneration of the Soapworks site in Bristol, the Edward Street Quarter in Brighton, and MK Gateway, a new mixed-use district in the centre of Milton Keynes.
