The founders of wealth manager Sandaire’s real estate division have set up a new investment advisory company following last year’s sale of Sandaire to Schroders.
Chris Horler and Robert Stokely have launched The Real Estate Investment Office – or TREIO – to advise ultra-high-net-worth individuals, wealthy families, trusts and charities on their real estate investments and activities.
The pair have been joined by client relationship Georgina Badine, who worked with them at Sandaire Real Estate.
Horler and Stokely were hired by wealth manager Sandaire in 2019 to set up its real estate advisory business. Horler had previously headed up real estate at private bank Arbuthnot Latham, while Stokely had been working at Lambert Smith Hampton, where he was founding director of LSH Investment Management.
Last September, Schroders struck a deal to buy Sandaire, which has been brought into Schroders’ existing wealth management business, Cazenove Capital.
TREIO has launched with a mandate to advise a client on acquisitions and asset management across its UK property portfolio, as well as another role working with a private client constructing a 4,000 sq ft ski chalet in Morzine, France.
Horler said the new venture will address “a gap in the market for the provision of truly independent advice to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families of wealth”. Stokely described the company as offering “continuity to our existing clients” while also giving scope for expansion.
