New golf concept Puttshack tees up Westfield London site

Social Entertainment Ventures is to launch new high-tech indoor mini-golf experience, Puttshack, at Westfield London.

Puttshack has agreed a deal for its first UK facility, a 20,000 sq ft site that is part of Westfield London’s £600m expansion. Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed sole agent.

Social Entertainment Ventures, the firm behind ping pong venue Bounce and golf venture Topgolf, has invested £15m into Puttshack, which aims to bring mini-golf into the 21st century.

Puttshack will feature four interactive and innovative nine-hole courses in the 750-capacity venue, which will also include an island rum bar and restaurant.

Within 12 months Social Entertainment Ventures plans to open two further Puttshack sites in London, including another flagship 21,000 sq ft venue in the City, and a site within the £73m extension at intu Lakeside.

Earlier this year, Social Entertainment Ventures appointed Cushman & Wakefield on the national roll-out of Bounce, which is looking for 20 sites across the country by 2020.

Social Entertainment Ventures co-founder and chief executive Adam Breeden, who also co-founded All Star Lanes and Flight Club, believes it is important to keep creating new concepts in the leisure sector.

He said: “It has been our ambition to create the best mini-golf experience in the world and we believe Puttshack delivers just that. Our world first Trackaball technology has enabled us to take mini-golf and transform it into something revolutionary.

“We have also fused a best-in-class food and beverage offer with stunning design to create the most immersive social entertainment experience yet. We are excited to be a part of the expansion at Westfield London and look forward to opening two further sides within the next 12 months.”

Thomas Rose, head of Cushman & Wakefield’s Leisure & Restaurant team, said: “Puttshack will be a truly immersive and exciting social gaming experience, which is an important feature of the leisure mix, both in city centre locations and large retail destinations, as the popularity of competitive socialising grows exponentially.”
