New chair at Ryden

Scottish property agent Ryden has unveiled a change of management structure as part of a new three-year growth plan.

Edinburgh-based chairman Fiona Morton will leave the business in October at the firm’s half-year point, while Bill Duguid, previously regional managing partner of the firm’s Aberdeen office, takes over as managing partner with immediate effect.

Duguid has been with the firm since 1985 and has led the Aberdeen office since 1997.

He said: “This is a great business with a strong balance sheet and excellent people. We believe the time is right in improving economic conditions to plan for growth.”

Morton, added: “It has been a great privilege to lead the Ryden business over the past eight years and I am confident in Bill’s ability to take Ryden forward.”

The firm saw turnover rise to £11.3m this year, with a 20% increase in transactional business and a 7% increase in business overall. Much of this was driven by the buoyant oil and gas business in and around Aberdeen in the north of Scotland.

Ryden has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Leeds, Dundee and Inverness.
