Network Rail seeks jv partner for Derby hot spot

Network Rail is poised to seek a development partner for the last major piece of developable land at Derby’s Pride Park business park in the city.

The not-for-profit rail operator is in talks with Derby council about the future of the 70-acre prime development site, which would effectively extend and complete the successful 130 acre Pride Park development.

A meeting is due to take place next week between the two to discuss timescales.

Network Rail will either seek a joint venture partner or sell the site on once it has been remediated.

NR’s Jo Lewington said: “We’re engaging with the council through its core strategy process about what we can do.

“It’s likely we’ll take it to the market as a joint venture opportunity advertised via OJEU.”

The site is currently being remediated and is located close to Derby Football Club’s Pride Park stadium.
