NatWest joins race for ScotAm

National Westminster Bank has emerged as a last minute bidder for Scottish Amicable.

The bank lines up against Fortis, GE Capital, Abbey National, Prudential and Australian Mutual Provident. All five have signed confidentiality clauses.
