EG continues to applaud the support shown by the industry during the Covid-19 crisis.
Arch Company
A relief organisation seeking emergency warehouses and storage space for charities and food banks has made its first connection.
After seeing an article on Relief Aid Logistics in EG last week, Arch Company became the first landlord to make its empty warehouse space available. It has donated two free units in Deptford to Fareshare.
The space will provide the food bank charity with extra food storage capacity as it supports the elderly and vulnerable isolated at home. Arch Company is continuing to work with Fareshare to explore making other units available to the charity.
Arch Company managing director Adam Dakin said: “We are delighted to help the community effort against Coronavirus in whatever small way we can. If other charities or community organisations could use one of our unoccupied arches to help with the current crisis, they should get in touch and we will see if we can help”.
Relief Aid Logistics is still looking for additional sites in; Belfast BT36, Brighton BN2, Edinburgh EH6, Ipswich IP3 and Manchester M11. If you can provide empty industrial space, please e-mail: george.cook@reliefaidlogistics.org
Colliers International
Colliers International Bristol has donated £5,000 to Fareshare South West, the benefiting charity of the firm’s annual TRYathlon. Capital & Centric and Kamani Property
Capital & Centric and Kamani Property have set up a Covid-19 emergency supplies depot at their site in New Cross, Manchester. The currently unoccupied Northern Quarter building has been opened to regional businesses such as Vimto, Warburtons and Hut Group, which are supporting Greater Manchester’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
The project is part of the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity appeal to help the city’s homeless. Chaired by Tim Heatley, co-founder of Capital & Centric, the charity is working with hotels across the city-region to provide temporary shared accommodation to vulnerable people living on the streets who have nowhere to self-isolate.
