Montreaux gets nod for £100m Barnet mixed-use scheme

Montreaux has been given the green light for a £100m development at a former Fiat car dealership in Colney Hatch, Barnet.

The developer secured planning consent for 200 flats and a 20,000 sq ft Lidl on the 2.6-acre site at the planning committee yesterday (9 December).

Montreaux acquired the land for £16m from a French private investor last year.

It is expanding its presence in London and the South East with a focus on large, mixed-use regeneration of brownfield sites, with major sites in Cricklewood for 1,000 homes and Charlton, Greenwich, with a further 1,000 homes.

Damian Stalley, managing director at Montreaux, stressed the benefits of the scheme for the area, providing much-needed homes and a strong prelet anchor tenant.

He said the consent was “a product of the collaboration between Barnet, the Greater London Authority and Montreaux”.
