Montagu Evans hires CBRE director in strategic advisory push

Montagu Evans has appointed former CBRE director Stephanie Barnes as a partner, as the firm seeks to ramp up its strategic advisory offer.

Barnes will take on a key role in the firm’s client teams for organisations including the Government Property Agency, Network Rail and Homes England as well as selected local authorities, NHS Property Services and Transport for London.

She previously worked at CBRE for five-and-a-half years, latterly as a director in its strategic consulting arm.

Alan Harris, partner at Montagu Evans, said: “Early involvement in the decision-making process, turning data and information into insight and intelligence and taking a forward-look at market opportunities is critical to effective real estate, but so too is truly understanding the circumstances, constraints and opportunities each organisation faces.

“After the past 18 months, major organisations have significant challenges to tackle and a more strategic, integrated approach to property can help support wider changes and improvements.

“Stephanie is a welcome addition to the partnership in this growing area and will work closely with our sector specialists and technical experts to support a range of high-profile clients.”

Barnes added: “Solving complex real estate challenges requires an integrated approach; it means putting people at the heart of property and understanding how we can deliver forward-thinking, strategic solutions to realise the opportunities that our clients are facing. This can range from developing a vision and strategy for a new development, optimising use mix in a redevelopment, identifying commercial opportunities across a portfolio or developing a future workplace strategy.

“I am looking forward to working in partnership with our clients and stakeholders to understand how their organisations and portfolios will evolve and getting to the heart of organisational effectiveness to deliver a resilient future.”
