Moda hires CBRE senior director

Build-to-rent developer Moda Living has appointed Guy Hurwood as investment director.

Hurwood previously joined CBRE in 2019 as a senior director in its northern Capital Markets business, based in the Leeds office. He advised on deals worth more than £2bn during his time at the agent.

Before that, Hurwood was at PwC for six years within its corporate finance team. He also worked for JLL’s corporate finance and debt advisory business.

In his new role, Hurwood will lead global investor relations to facilitate business growth across the living sectors. He will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with the business’s existing investor pool, and sourcing and securing new funding and investment opportunities.

Johnny Caddick, chief executive of Moda, said: “Guy’s appointment will help us maintain our leading position in the UK living sector as we continue to create sustainable neighbourhoods, where our in-house technology platforms and health and wellbeing are intrinsic.”

Hurwood said: “The neighborhoods they are creating across the UK set the bar for rental living, and I look forward to making my mark and being a part of the change they are driving in the way people live.”
