The nation’s favourite quiz shows featured heavily at last week’s annual Midlands Property Quiz at Aston Villa Football Club.

Around 500 of property’s keenest minds came together to raise money for charity and to work out the answers to questions on music, film, news, sport and general knowledge. The rounds were themed around TV family favourites such as Popstars: The Rivals for music and “Deal” of Fortune for the brochure round. TV’s own Nick Hancock of They Think It’s All Over and Room 101 was host for the evening.

The perennially popular novelty round saw guests get creative by making futuristic outfits using all sorts of recyclable materials such as cardboard boxes, plastic bottles and pipe cleaners. One guest was even wrapped head to toe in bubble wrap with a strategically placed breathing hole.

This year’s winner was GBR Phoenix Beard, while last year’s winners, Faithful & Gould, came second, followed by Santander in third place. Overbury took home the wooden spoon.

An impressive £36,000 was raised on the night, pushing the total raised for charity since the quiz began to circa £500,000. Set to benefit once again are Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the LionHeart charity.
