Medical technology company TidalSense is in talks to boost the size of its headquarters in Cambridge after a successful venture capital funding round.
The firm currently occupies 4,026 sq ft office at 15A Vinery Road in Cambridge, having signed a five-year lease at £35 per sq ft back in 2021.
It is looking to take a linked building, measuring 7,600 sq ft, to use it as a research and development hub. The potential expansion is being considered for October this year.
The new facility, designed by Owers Warwick Architects, is currently undergoing conversion.
Landlord Vinery Mews secured planning permission from the local council to turn the warehouse into R&D space in July last year.
It was originally designed as a shell and core space, but the developer has now lodged planning amendments to align the facility with the occupier’s requirements.
This includes adjusting the scheme to allow a greater split towards R&D space, as opposed to offices in the original plans.
The proposals include retention of the main structure of the building, including the steel frame and external brick walls, while the existing roof will be removed and replaced alongside metal cladding to the northern gable.
The development is expected to achieve BREAAM Excellent certification.
Carter Jonas is advising the firm on planning matters.
