McBains plots move to new Farringdon headquarters

Property and construction consultant McBains has picked Patrizia’s 48-50 St John Street in Farringdon, EC1, as its new headquarters.

The site, which is a stone’s throw from the upcoming Farringdon Crossrail station, includes 19,543 sq ft of space across a 1960s block overlooking the street and a converted Victorian warehouse behind.

McBains will carry out a major refurbishment and redevelopment of the buildings, before moving to the new site at the end of 2023 from its current office at 26 Finsbury Square, EC2.

Mark Leeson, operations director at McBains, said: “We are looking forward to being able to tailor the space to our individual requirements and to showcase what we believe to be the future of office space – prioritising technology and collaborative work settings.”

Patrizia bought the site from Aberdeen Standard Investments (acting on behalf of Courts Nominees) in May for £17m.
