Mastercard has shortlisted options for a new office in Dublin, EG understands.
The firm is targeting around 250,000 sq ft, a significant upgrade on its current 40,000 sq ft premises in Green REIT’s Central Park, Leopardstown.
Mastercard has drawn up a list of potential offices in the Irish capital, including the 950,000 sq ft Central Park campus; Singapore-headquartered Mapletree Investment’s 210,000 sq ft Sorting Office near Grand Canal Dock; Cyril McGuire’s 290,000 sq ft South County Business Park; and Aldgate Development’s 600,000 sq ft Sandyford scheme.
The firm is looking to move in over the next 12-18 months.
Mastercard’s current Leopardstown office, established in 2008, is responsible for developing various payment technologies, and is also home to Mastercard Labs, the company’s global research and development arm.
The news comes amid a busy lettings market in Dublin. Take-up for the first half of 2019 stands at around 1.8m sq ft, which represents an increase of 4% on the same period in 2018, according to according to BNP Paribas Real Estate.
Mastercard did not respond to requests for comment.
