British Land and Landsec were among several REITs posting share price rises today, defying broader slumps in both the FTSE 100 and 250.
BL’s share price increased by 2.41% to 366.1p, while Landsec was up by 3.19% to 576.6p, pushing the pair into the FTSE 100’s top risers.
Meanwhile, Whitbread was one of the index’s top fallers, down by 4.64% to 2,180p.
Outside the FTSE 100, Capital & Counties saw a 2.57% uplift in its share price to 139.9p, while UK Commercial Property REIT rose by 2.54% to 68.7p.
The FTSE 100 was down by 1.54% to 5,897.76 points, while the FTSE 250 declined by 0.5% to 16,932.65.
