Persimmon led the FTSE 100 climbers in trading today, ahead of publishing its half-year results on Tuesday.
The housebuilder’s stock gained 3.1% to reach 2,613p per share, just a penny off its highest point since the UK’s coronavirus lockdown restrictions began.
The company’s interim results are expected to show a drop of a third in revenue.
Among the London-listed REITs, there were notable rises for NewRiver, up by almost 6.5% at 65.8p, and Schroder European REIT, up by 4.2% at 75p.
British Land was among the FTSE 100’s steepest fallers, its shares dropping by about 1.9% to 359.2p.
The FTSE 100 ended the day at 6,127, a rise of 0.6%. The FTSE 250 stood at 17,771, up 0.2%.
