Hammerson saw its share price jump by 8.59% to 16.3p, after confirming that it had appointed Rita-Rose Gagné to be its next chief executive.
Landsec also saw its share price rise by 1.97% to 522.5p, pushing it into the FTSE 100’s top risers. It announced that its chief financial officer Martin Greenslade was to step down after around 15 years at the REIT.
The firm was joined in the top risers by British Land and housebuilder Taylor Wimpey, which saw share price hikes of 1.9% to 337.4p and 3.04% to 108.45p respectively.
Overall the FTSE 100 was down by 0.53% to 5,866 points and the FTSE 250 by 0.83% to 17,315 points.
