Property management company MAPP has turned its building consultancy division into an independent company.
Building Consultancy by MAPP will be led by Alex Herrmann, who joined the company about three and a half years ago from CBRE and has led the business for the group.
Herrmann said: “The intense scrutiny on sustainability and the changing way occupiers are interacting with the built environment is changing the whole concept of building consultancy.”
MAPP chief executive Nigel Mapp said the “tailwinds of new recruits and client wins” for the business had convinced the team of the benefits of making it an autonomous practice.
The business will continue to work with MAPP clients but will now also target its own mandates across the country, with teams in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol set to grow through a new hiring push.
