Maples Teesdale announces new managing partner

Real estate law firm Maples Teesdale has appointed Paul Burke as managing partner.

He will take over from Chris Wilkinson on 1 April. Wilkinson is stepping down after six years as head of the firm.

Burke, who has been a partner at Maple Teesdale since 2010, specialising in corporate real estate law, said he as looking forward to taking forward a business “in great shape, with a growing roster of exceptional clients and a highly talented team”.

He added: “I look forward to building on this success with the support of my colleagues, unlocking new opportunities, continuing our growth trajectory and delivering on our commitment to be the real estate industry’s leading full-service legal practice.”

Burke said he planned to deliver on three key objectives during his tenure as managing partner. They include enhancing its position as a leading full-service law firm to the real estate industry in the UK, unlocking new practice areas and developing complementary service offerings and nurturing talent.

Maples Teesdale employs a total of 60 lawyers, including 19 partners, and acts for clients including abrdn, CBRE Investment Management, City of London Corporation, Lloyds Bank, Legal & General, Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Mileway and Yoo Capital across a range of disciplines from capital transactions to finance, litigation and tax.
