LSH and Amber appointed fund managers for RIFW

Lambert Smith Hampton and Amber Infrastructure have been appointed as fund and investment managers for the Regeneration Investment Fund for Wales.

The RIFW, which will launch later this year, is the name for the EU’s JESSICA (Joint European Scheme for Sustainable Investment in City Areas) initiative in Wales.

JESSICA is a new way of using EU funding to promote sustainable investments and growth in urban areas.

The fund can be used to make repayable investments in projects included in an integrated plan for sustainable urban development to respond to a need to promote investment in regenerating our towns and cities.

LSH and Amber were appointed following an OJEU bidding process,

Deputy minister for housing and regeneration Jocelyn Davies said: “The Regeneration Investment Fund for Wales is an important step forward in ensuring that the long term regeneration of our communities is a success.

“This new approach means that new investment opportunities will not only have a lasting legacy for the areas which are regenerated but that the funding will be recycled so that more people and places can benefit in future.”
