London BioScience Innovation Centre takes space at Tribeca

Reef Group and Blackrock Alternatives have secured the first tenant for their 1m sq ft Tribeca development in King’s Cross, N1.

The London BioScience Innovation Centre will be open a 37,127 sq ft innovation centre at the Apex, one of five mixed-use buildings in the development, which is scheduled for completion in autumn next year.

The new tenant has signed a 25-year lease for part basement and ground, first and second floors of the seven-storey building. It plans to be involved in the marketing, letting and operation in the remainder of the building, to ensure the occupier mix is complementary.

Founded in 2000, London BioScience Innovation Centre is wholly owned by the Royal Veterinary College. The Apex facility is expected to help drive scientific discoveries leading to improvements in both animal and human health.

Stewart Deering, chief executive at Reef, said: “The space has been designed to encourage occupiers to collaborate and drive forward the fast-growing and dynamic life sciences sector.

“London BioScience Innovation Centre will be key to realising this ambition by drawing on its extensive customer base from across the industry and ensuring the tenant mix at the Apex is complementary and world-leading in research and development.”
