Lloyd’s plans restaurant for ‘inside-out building’

A Michelin-starred restaurant could soon open at the top of the iconic Lloyd’s of London HQ in the City.

The proposed change is part of a review into how the world’s oldest insurer uses it’s Richard Rogers-designed space, which also includes plans to shrink its giant underwriting room.

A restaurant is being considered as a way to attract clients and also give members of the public the chance to enjoy the views from the top of the famous “inside-out building”.

A food market and terrace bar are also being considered.

It is thought that many more such bars and restaurants could open inside formerly homogenous office blocks, thanks to changes in planning rules.
