LLDC launches partner search for final slice of Olympic Park

The London Legacy Development Corporation is seeking a joint venture development partner to deliver the last major development site on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The £675m project will deliver a new local centre at Pudding Mill Lane. Part of the site, which totals 12.6 acres, currently hosts Stufish’s ABBA Arena on a five-year lease.

The site is located on the southern edge of the park and has a resolution to grant outline planning consent for 948 homes, a minimum of 45% of which will be affordable, 40 dedicated later living homes, a nursery, health centre, community space, play areas and local courtyards with biodiverse planting, as well as the new neighbourhood centre with shops, cafés and restaurants adjacent to Pudding Mill Lane DLR station.

The vision for Pudding Mill Lane includes around 323,000 sq ft minimum of commercial floor space for offices, retail and leisure uses.

Rosanna Lawes, executive director of development at LLDC, said: “Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is simply an amazing place that has already delivered so much. We are seeking the very best partner to help us build on that success with our final development site.

“We are not risk-averse and we are keen to work alongside the market in a joint venture to promote this development at pace. We are seeking a partner who shares our vision to establish a new and exemplary local centre.”

Clive Pane, partner at Deloitte, which is advising on the partner search, added: “Pudding Mill Lane offers the potential to deliver something really special – for both the community and businesses – as the final piece of the jigsaw at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.”

Interested parties have until 1pm on 28 February to submit expressions of interest.
