Liverpool’s net zero carbon Hemisphere gets planning approval

Sciontec’s first new-build development, Hemisphere, has been granted planning permission by Liverpool City Council.

The 172,000 sq ft development, comprising offices, co-working space, a café and wellness studio, will be located on Paddington Village in the Knowledge Quarter. It is expected to be the first operational net zero carbon workspace building in the region.

Colin Sinclair, chief executive at Sciontec, said: “We are promising to make Hemisphere the most cycling commuter-friendly workspace in the city centre by not only including 166 secure cycle spaces but all e-bike charging facilities, drying facilities, changing rooms and showers for cyclists.”

Construction is due to start in 2023, with an expected completion date of 2025.
