Linden Homes wins £25m Bristol harbour scheme

Linden Homes Western has teamed up with the ss Great Britain Trust for a £25m redevelopment scheme at the old dockyard buildings at Bristol’s harbourside.

The scheme, to be developed alongside Brunel’s famous ship, will include 145 flats and a new archive and library facility to be called the Brunel Institute.

The development will also include a schools’ learning and resource centre, visitor entrance, ticket office and shop.

Countryside Properties had received full planning consent in January from Bristol council for the scheme, which was designed by Stride Treglown.

However, Linden Homes has bought the leasehold interest on the land for an undisclosed amount, and will now develop the scheme.

The council owns the freehold.

The urban regeneration scheme will allow the Trust to create an endowment fund, to contribute towards the historic ship’s maintenance.

Alder King advised the Trust.
