Edwardian Group London has lodged plans for a 360-bedroom hotel and new Odeon cinema in London’s Leicester Square, W1.
Proposals comprise a hotel with eight storeys above ground, as well as bars and restaurants, a spa, a swimming pool, an Odeon cinema and a banqueting suite below ground.
Iype Abraham, commercial development director at Edwardian Group London, said: “We have been committed to establishing upscale hotels in London for decades and as we work alongside Arup and Woods Bagot Architects on this application, we hope to continue that heritage. We believe that the design of this hotel showcases our passion for the city and that it will add to the continued regeneration of Leicester Square.”
The building will work as a series of independent but connected venues and operate as a single entity for hosting major film premieres of the future.
The application to Westminster city council comes after Radisson Edwardian bought the 0.47-acre prime development site in January 2012 , for around £100m.
Jones Lang LaSalle is advising Edwardian Group London.
