MIPIM UK NEWS: Leeds City Council has launched the sale of a £4m prime city centre development site and an 86,745 sq ft trio of heritage buildings.
The 10,763 sq ft 2 Sovereign Square has consent for offices, hotels, flats and leisure facilities, and there is potential to increase the height of the building. The scheme is next to 1 Sovereign Square, KPMG’s new Leeds HQ, and 3 Sovereign Square, where Addleshaw Goddard has agreed a deal to lease offices.
Leeds City Council leader Judith Blake said: “Sovereign Square’s proximity to Leeds station, the fantastic city centre retail offer and the exciting South Bank makes the site one of the very best-connected locations in the city.”
The heritage buildings in the city’s civic quarter – the Leonardo Building, Thoresby House and 2 Great George Street – are being marketed for offers in excess of £8m.
The buildings are used by Leeds City Council as offices. Subject to planning, other suggested uses are hotel, restaurant, café, bar, entertainment and residential.
